In 2013, Basecamper Vans was created by adventurers for adventurers as a turnkey solution for self-directed travel.

Our depot is located in a vibrant commercial district and easy to access by public transportation or ride share from Salt Lake International Airport

Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce Capitol Reef, Bryce, Dead Horse Point, Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier are all within a few hours drive — SLC is an ideal launching pad for your vacation. With world class ski resorts, mountain bike trails, rivers, and crags — there’s plenty to see and do.

At Basecamper Vans, "we stand for what we stand on" ~ Edward Abbey. So use our vehicles to drive to the trailhead, do your thing, come back safely and have a nice evening. Rinse and repeat. We’ll see you out there!

At Basecamper Vans, we are pro adventurers. From climbing to skiing and mountain biking to chilling, we’ve been many places. There are thousands upon thousands of acres of public lands to recreate, camp, relax, and rejuvenate. We enjoy chatting with our clients about where to go throughout the Intermountain West and beyond. We are friendly, knowledgeable folks happy to help with trip planning.

Top FAQs

  • Campervans are awesome, we think it's great! So much so that we want you to try it. Being able to pull up to your campsite and get right to the fun part without having to remember where you put the tent stakes is awesome, and having your cooking stuff ready to go is sweet, too.

    Campervans are not RVs, by design, and there are compromises, for example, a van that seats five simply doesn't have room inside to sleep five, unless most of those people are small kids. Choose our Highline vans to make room for the whole team.

    Additionally, campervans do not have toilets or showers built in, and staying cool on hot summer nights involves open windows, a good breeze, and use of a small fan. If you're expecting a rolling motel room, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting a great way to explore the mountain west with comfy camping, you'll be treated to amazing sunrises right outside your door.​

  • We include a stove, water jug, cooler, camping chairs, camping table, and bedding (upon request) with every van

  • We understand that sometimes you can only get away for a weekend even if you would rather go for a month. However, depending on the season, the minimum rental term is 3-5 nights. Some holidays have a seven-day minimum. Request a quote and add details if you’re looking for flexibility - we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

  • Sorry but no! In short, the playa dust easily wrecks vehicles. We used to have two vans dedicate just to Burning Man. What happened to them, you ask? They went to Burning Man.
