Who is Brain Stride?

We believe that having accurate information on how to keep our brains healthy, enables us to make the best decisions for our brains. Brain Stride utilizes more than 25 years of experience in neurodegenerative diseases and has access to one of the largest repositories of Alzheimer’s clinical data to develop a brain healthy lifestyle. Developing a brain healthy lifestyle involves being able to make informed changes towards a more brain healthy life. We seek to enable change by creating an environment where anyone can come to learn about and measure metrics related to brain health. "Take a step back and say, 'I can do something, I’m gonna grab the bull by the horns. I’m gonna take control of my brain health and I’m going to get educated and get informed.'" Dr. Richard Isaacson, MD Director of the Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic, Weill Cornell

Measures

We offer ways for people to measure different aspects of your health. These metrics can help you make adjustments to your fitness goals, your nutrition goals, and focus your overall health goals. We can also make recommendations on other metrics that you can measure that will help you understand other aspects of your health, things relating to mental health and cognitive health. As you understand the measures relating to your overall health you can start finding interventions that relate to those metrics and can make adjustments in your life to improve the metrics related to your health.

Cognitive Tests

Cognitive tests can be used to help evaluate the health of your brain. They will show if there are deficits in the way your brain is able to process, learn, and remember information. Cognitive tests consist of two different types, screening test and in-depth tests. Screening tests are ones that most practitioners should be able to use to give you an overview of how your cognition is performing. A more in-depth test will show to a greater extent where your brain is starting to suffer and would be performed by a neurologist.

InBody

The InBody assessment measures physical health in the following areas: segmental lean muscle mass, body fat percentage, intra/extracellular water, and visceral fat area (each area being segmented by right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, and trunk). Physical health is extremely important to cognitive health and knowing where you are at on these metrics will help you focus on goals that center around your physical health to help keep your brain in top condition. Interventions

There are lots of things that we can do to improve our cognitive health. Since cognitive health is so tied with overall health, here at Brain Stride we are dedicated to helping people understand the things that they can do to help improve their overall health and understand how that impacts their cognitive health. We help people understand how to engage their minds and start small on changing habits.  Ultimately, we want to help people develop habits that help them live a better and more independent life.
