ABOUT MATT

After years of working in digital marketing, public relations and sales, I became a real estate broker with the Neil Hackler Group to provide exceptional, personalized client service to buyers and sellers throughout the real estate process.

Whether you want the perfect plant-filled balcony for your morning coffee, a chef’s kitchen that is #goals, or a condo near the park for Fido’s walks, I don’t want to just “sell” you a house. As a professed homebody, I want to help you weigh the pros and cons of buying a home that you can enjoy for years to come.

I live in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood where you’ll likely find me playing tennis, perusing interior design magazines, walking my dog Lou along the lakeshore, or exploring all that Chicago has to offer.

EXPERIENCE

Home is the foundation of our lives: it's where we escape after a long day’s work; where friends and family gather to celebrate milestones; an environment that unabashedly reflects our personalities. Home is where many of our most cherished memories are created.

While buying a home isn’t the hardest decision you will make, it can be a daunting process and often has its own misperceptions (thanks, HGTV – still ❤️ you). With the right realtor, buying your first home can be a rewarding and fun experience. As a trusted realtor and counselor, I joined the world of real estate to help clients feel comfortable and confident throughout the home buying and selling process.

Client Reviews

Matt is extremely professional, detail-oriented, and enjoyable to work with. He made the home buying process as stress-free as possible and patiently answered all of my (seemingly endless) questions. Highly recommend!
— Amanda Moss
Matt connects the dots. As a first-time home buyer, Matt walked me through the process from start to end at the beginning. He was there to provide recommendations for every step along the way. Rockstar lending guidance? Check. Legal expertise? He’s got a guy.

If you’re at all interested in owning a new home - I highly recommend Matt.
— Kyle Nelson
From the beginning, Matt not only made us feel really comfortable with the process, he was right on top of scheduling property visits, promptly answered our many questions, helped facilitate seamless communication with lenders, attorneys, home inspectors, etc., and brought insights from his past experience to the table to help us make a clear-eyed decision about our eventual home purchase. Highly recommend!

Free Resources for
First-Time Homebuyers

Beginning your home search can be completely overwhelming. Pre-approvals, open houses, earnest money, contracts, etc. – there’s a lot that goes into this “buying a condo” thing.

To help you understand the process from the beginning of your search, I offer a free first-time homebuyer consultation to go over everything from the process, to setting you up with a custom search in the MLS, to talking about “must haves” and “nice to haves.”

Once you understand the buying process, you'll need to get connect with a lender to determine your budget and decide which loan program works best for you – again, don’t worry, I know people! Once you’re pre-approved, we’ll go look at properties, I’ll send you daily listings that meet your criteria, and we’ll find your new happy place.

In the meantime, below are a few great (free) resources to learn more about buying your first place:

Home Selling Services

1. Consultation

Once you've decided you want to enter the housing market, we’ll set up time for a consultation in your home. After getting to know each other over coffee or vino, you’ll tell me the story behind your home. Once we align on motivators, must-haves (bedrooms, baths, chef’s kitchen, etc.) and current market conditions, I’ll develop the best possible selling strategy to help you achieve your real estate goals.

2. VALUATION

The first question on every seller’s mind is, “How much is my home worth?” After our consultation, I’ll create a detailed custom market analysis (CMA) to determine the best strategy for how to price your home. With an in-depth look at what other homes in the building and neighborhood have recently sold for, we’ll align on a pricing strategy to help you achieve your goals and maximize your home’s sale price.

3. Marketing

Thanks to my degree in advertising and a background in marketing, I employ a strategic, targeted, digital and results-focused selling style. I’ll bring in a professional photographer, write a compelling listing description, host incredible open houses (treats, music, an inviting candle – the works), and work with my team of design professionals to create amazing marketing collateral to quickly and efficiently sell your home.
