Rosa is a little red ant who is filling her belly with delicious food when she and the other members of her colony suddenly realize the ground is shaking and quickly crawl away. Moments later, a herd of elephants tramples her beautiful ant home. Determined to create a new peaceful existence, Rosa and her ant friends build a village high in a beautiful acacia tree. Relieved she is finally safe in her cozy home, Rosa is minding her own business one day when she realizes an elephant is feeding on the branches of her beloved tree and frightening all the other ants. After Rosa vows to protect her beautiful home from all creatures, she builds her strength and waits. She finally has her chance to save the day when an elephant rumbles into the ant village one night. But will Rosa be able to summon enough courage to stop the creature from destroying her home again? In this delightful tale, a little ant must transform into a brave hero in order to protect her home from being destroyed by elephants.

  • Dainty Nix is an adjunct professor at Northampton Community College who formerly taught at F.H. La Guardia High School of Music and Performing Arts in New York City. She holds a master’s degree in education, and will soon receive a certificate in children’s book writing from UC San Diego Extension. Nix, who was born in Jamaica, lives with her family in the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.

 

BECAUSE OF LOVE

With unflinching resolve and her heart resonating the mantra of love, The Little Doggie pushed outside of her boundaries. She set out on a voyage after the brilliant light because she wanted to be loved. Along the road, she not only found the love she craved, but also the power within herself. PEACHES BIGGEST DREAM

Peaches is an only child. She is very shy and soft spoken and is often teased by the other children.

Often times she sat by her window and watched as the other children played. “How lucky those children are ”she would say to herself. She had no one to play with.

One day as Peaches sat staring through the window, the sweet comforting voice of her Mom popped in her mind.

Peaches then became very determined to make friends.

She replaced the fear in her heart with love and covered her face with a smile as she greeted the other children.

What obstacles must Peaches overcome? Will she be able to make friends?
