Dilip Kale is a professional musician and plays the Santoor, an instrument with 91 strings. Over the last three decades, Dilip has been enthralling his audiences through live performances of Indian Classical Music solos and jugalbandis at prestigious national and international music festivals. In Dilip’s hands, the Santoor emotes expressions making the strings come alive, striking lasting cords with his audience. 

He has been fortunate to have been a disciple of the Santoor maestro and living legend himself, Padma Vibhushan, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, inheriting and carrying forward the rich musical heritage and tradition of the Santoor.

Raga Mishra Shivranjani takes you on an inwards journey to a world of pathos, appealing to the senses, evoking feelings and eliciting emotions that already reside within you. This comes from one of the music workshops organised at Chinmaya Naada Bindu Gurukula, Kolvan, Pune, India, in the presence of my Guru, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma.

THE LEGACY

Dilip has been blessed to have inherited the rich musical lineage and the nuances of playing the Santoor from the maestro himself, Padma Vibhushan Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, his Guru.

The air was filled with reverberations of the Santoor notes by Dilip Kale, a renowned artist . As the evening progressed, the magic unfolded with a solo performance and reached a pinnacle with an enchanting jugalbandi between Dilip Kale and Ramdas Palsule on the tabla, followed by a resounding applauses from the audience .
