Talk to your kids about fentanyl

Fentanyl is a powerful, synthetic opioid. It’s killing young people — and many of them don't even know it exists.

This is not a “Just Say No” conversation. This is "Just Say Know.” Most kids aren’t seeking fentanyl, they get it by accident. Just knowing that it is hidden in fake pills and other drugs empowers them and helps them stay safe. And it opens the door to conversations about healthier ways to deal with stress.

Think your child would never encounter fentanyl? You might be surprised. Young people today are under a lot of pressure, and some of them choose to experiment with drugs.

Fentanyl is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine.

In 2020, 76% of drug deaths in people ages 15-24 involved fentanyl.
