Experience

John Morris' diverse background includes work in education, manufacturing, construction, small and big business.  His experience allows him to work with the community while strategically leading the administration.

John is leading a push for a change in legislation which will provide the Township with greater local control to save money.

John is offering transparency in how our tax dollars are being spent, moving the Township to Ohio Checkbook - a system where any resident can see how dollars are spent through a simple search function.  Under his leadership, the Township's bond rating was upgraded to AA2 - an excellent indication of financial health.

Safety & Health

Miami Township is safe and thriving due to John Morris' Leadership of our incredible Police and Fire employees.

Miami Township moved its dispatch center in 2022 resulting in INCREASED service and response times at LOWER costs.

Morris oversaw investments into new equipment including body cameras for police which are now working to protect the rights of citizens and officers.

The passing of a new fire district levy in 2022 will lead to the re-opening of a fire station, new hires and new equipment.

Our Police and Fire will remain strong through strong fiscal management of existing resources and community growth.

Parks and Roads

Under John Morris' Leadership, the Township is again investing in its parks.

Morris demanded that a Community Parks Board be formed. It is up and working. Residents once again have a say in how our parks are developed and managed, what events should be organized.   New equipment has been installed in ALL Parks with completed full renovations in many.

The Roads department is now using more modern methods to improve the quality of roads and taking a strategic approach to repairs, responding more quickly to resident requests.  Roads are now being properly maintained within budget constraints.
