I am a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine based at Southmead Hospital, Bristol. I qualified in 1992 and did my initial training in General / Internal Medicine (MRCP UK 1995). From 1995 to 2002 I trained in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine (dual accreditation 2002). I was appointed as a Consultant at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol in 2003 and moved to Southmead Hospital when it opened in 2014.

My clinical work is split between intensive care medicine and anaesthesia for trauma and neurosurgery lists and. Southmead is the regional Major Trauma Centre and the ICU cares for patients from most specialties including neurosurgery, trauma, obstetrics, burns and most medical sub-specialties.

I do not have expertise in paediatrics or cardiac surgery. I am Critical Care lead for Sepsis and Infection Control as well as dealing with complaints and sitting on the Clinical Risk committee.

I am an examiner for the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) exam.

I have 7 years medico-legal experience including medical negligence, criminal and coronial Courts.

Medico-legal work

I am happy to write expert reports on Intensive Care Medicine, Sepsis, Trauma, Anaesthesia. I aim to provide reports within 2 weeks of receipt of the medical records.
