About Indian Red Cross
The Indian Red Cross is a voluntary humanitarian organization having a network of over 700 branches throughout the country, providing relief in times of disasters/emergencies and promotes health & care of the vulnerable people and communities. It is a leading member of the largest independent humanitarian organization in the world, the International Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement.
The Mission of the Indian Red Cross is to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized and even prevented and thus contribute to creating more congenial climate for peace.

Aims & Objectives of IRCS:
The Aims & Objectives of Indian Red Cross Society, Karimganj District Branch which is registered under the Indian Red Cross Society Act XV of 1920 (as amended by Act XXII of 1956): –
- Maternity, Child Welfare & Family Welfare work;
- (b) Training in Nursing and Para-Medical Works;
Maternity & Child Welfare Centre (MCWC)-
MCWC Hospital started functioning from 15th Aug’ 1975 to reduce infant and maternal Mortality. High rate of Infant and Maternal Mortality is only because of inadequate care during pregnancy and childbirth.

I gracefully remember the support, co-operation and encouragement that I have received from the members of the Society & the Managing Body during the reported period and I express my deep gratitude to all. I would also express my gratitude to the Deputy-Commissioner, Karimganj and President, IRCS, Karimganj District Branch, for his guidance and co-operation. I also offer my sincere thanks to the Joint Director of Health Services, Karimganj & Vice-President, IRCS, Karimganj District Branch, for his help regarding the Hospital Management.
I also convey my thanks to all the donors to the Society. I am also thankful to the Local Press, Karimganj Municipal Board and the Karimganj Development Authority for their co-operation. I also sincerely thank all the silent well-wishers of the Society.
