Islandheart Studio
Welcome to my small corner of the Web. I'm Izzie Islandheart, the queer art pagan. I'm queer, I'm an artist, and I'm pagan. (If that feels redundant, fear not: it also feels that way to me, but I have been asked - more than once - to explain what "queer art pagan" means. ^^; I am fine with any pronouns. I most often use they/them and she/her when referring to myself in writing. My art is a mishmash of digital art and mixed media with mostly queer and pagan themes, and my writing mostly follows the same.
As far as my background goes, I was raised atheist and have been pagan since 1998. I have associate's degrees in Computer Information Systems and Humanities, and a bachelor's and master's degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Expressive Ecopsychology. All of these aspects of my background play a part in what I create today.
Art
If you're here exclusively for art, this is your stop! My newest completed work is always at the top of the page. A gallery of free-to-access artwork will always be available on my Ko-fi page. Some of these pieces will be lower-resolution and/or censored because they are publicly accessible. Higher resolution and uncensored art is available on Patreon. This helps protect both me as an artist and the platforms I use. I work hard to keep my patron subscriptions reasonable, and I don't mind if someone only subscribes for one month and binges the archive! I also have free will donations available through Ko-fi for people who would like to offer one-time support or different amounts of support.
Social Media
I no longer use most forms of social media for posting or interacting. The two I do still have accounts on (which are not as frequently updated as my galleries or this page) are Mastodon and Instagram. I also periodically weed my Instagram account to stay ahead of AI and other social media scraping bots, so nothing posted there is guaranteed to stay there. I do have an account on Bluesky and am exploring it, but I am not actively using it.
The Blog
In lieu of social media, I am making a return to blogging. My blog is not yet set up, but when it is, the link and description will be available here, as well as a quick link under Navigation.
Acknowledgements
Notebook I of Marcus Aurelius's Meditations is a catalog of acknowledgements and gratitudes toward the people who helped shape him. I have wanted for some time to have such a catalog of my own, including those people I still learn from today. Click here or use the link in the sidebar to check them out!
