"Mrs. Brown served as an Elementary teacher for over 30 years. When our Neighborhood Director approached her with the idea of going back and visiting her classroom, her eyes lit up, and a huge smile spread across her face. In that instant we knew this was going to be an amazing time. We immediately contacted her family, and they wanted to experience the day with her as well! Just walking through the door with Mrs. Brown was an emotional time. People in the front office had Mrs. Brown as a teacher, The principal had her as one too. Teachers were coming out of their classrooms to reintroduce themselves with their Maiden names, so she would recognize them. A few were shedding tears. When we got to her classroom the teacher that was there, who Mrs. Brown was her student teacher, had flowers and books to give. The children were so excited to see her as well. They sang to her, we took class pictures. In our short visit we realized how vital our residents were in their occupations and what an impact they had on their communities!

On April 13th Delbert and Hubert from Scenic Hills at the Monastery had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the Honor Flight of Evansville. Escorted by their sons, it was a day they will never forget! We thank them for their service to our country and we are honored to be able to help fund these honor flights.
