Amy's graduation party

Amy LoSacco of Downingtown, PA (although she'd probably say "of Glassboro, NJ") celebrated her graduation at a summer pool party at the home of her aunt and uncle Andrea and Mark LoSacco in Monroe Township, NJ.  Here are a few snapshots:

Amy joins the Rowan class of 2011 (2010.5 actually)

Although she technically completed her undergraduate degree in December of 2010, it just felt more official yesterday when Amy LoSacco of Downingtown, PA walked in the Rowan University graduation ceremony for the class of 2011.

From left: brother Christopher, mom Stacey, proud graduate Amy, and dad Paul

Her parents, brother and boyfriend were all in attendance, and we all could not have been more proud. Amy graduated Magna Cum Laude (Latin for with great praise if you were wondering, and signifying a GPA over 3.8) and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Law/Justice, a minor in Theatre, and a concentration in Honors Studies (signifying that she took several honors-level classes). The roping she is wearing above signifies some these distinctions, and the medal she is wearing was for being an active member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society, where she served as their Treasurer.

Amy was very busy while at Rowan. She was Vice President of Civil Engagement for the Thomas N. Bantivoglio Honors Program, where among other things she was instrumental in creating and launching a new honors-level course now offered at Rowan University entitled Honors Historic Hollybush. Amy was also very active in Student University Programmers (SUP), an organization that coordinates dozens of university-wide events each semester. As their Treasurer she provided financial oversight for a $300,000 budget.

To help pay the bills, Amy held a job as Employee/Building Manager for the Student Center at Rowan. This involved supervising 35 Student Center employees, providing tech services for Student Center events, and managing facility operations when the professional staff was unavailable (4pm-1am weekends, and all weekend). She loved the job, and they loved her, as she was named best up-and-coming Student Center employee. Amy also worked for Rowan After Hours where she was involved in alternative weekend programs and late night programs for students.

Oh, and she was Vice President for the Pre-law Society.

And did I mention that she performed in The Vagina Monologues for three years, and in the fourth year co-directed the show with her four-year roommate and friend, Shana Schmoyer.

Where did she find time for classes?
