...to Lost Photos Found. 

This site celebrates pre-World War II era photography, with a particular emphasis on the cabinet card and studio photography of the 1870-1920 time period. Except where otherwise noted, all items are from my personal collection and may potentially be available for purchase upon request. They are organized by category, location, and photographer/studio, depending on your particular interest.

One of my hobbies is to research the identities of individuals labeled in old photos and locate living descendants or other relatives. Wherever possible, I try to reunite the original photographs with a family member who will treasure the photo, at my own expense.  

However, sometimes there is not enough information on the photo to identify which of several individuals that share the same name is pictured or enough breadcrumbs available through Ancestry.com and other genealogy sites to trace living relatives. In other cases, I simply haven't had enough time (yet!) to do all of the necessary research. I am also in the ongoing (and never-ending) process of compiling a centralized listing of U.S. photographers of the 1850-1920 era. I will continue to add to this database as time and energy allows. Additions and corrections are always welcome.
