In 1974, I left Cuba, as a very young child, with my parents and older sister. We lived briefly in Madrid, Spain, while we waited for the entry visas to the United States. We were able to legally enter this country as exiled political refugees. From my youth, I began to admire the jurisprudence system of laws in the United States of America, which allow for the possibility, to have your day in Court.
My first degree at the university level was a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Criminal Justice which I received with honors. I was also very involved in the Anthropology Department specializing in archaeology. My love for history and the Law propelled me to attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where I received my Doctor in Law.
I have been practicing law in the South Florida area for 15 years. In the early years of my private practice, I represented clients in both County and Circuit Court. Specifically, I represented clients in the area of the Landlord Tenant disputes. I also represented clients in Family Court cases resolving disputes of custody, support and visitation.
For the past 7 years, I have specialized in the area of Asset Protection, Wills and Estates. The area of asset protection is ever changing as we look at old and new legal means to protect the assets of our clients. The preparation of living and last wills along with corporations and trusts are invaluable vehicles to achieve our clients’ goals.
