Who We Are

The mission of the Maine Game Warden Foundation is to support educational and charitable causes. It promotes and supports natural resource conservation, youth programs, families in need, public safety, and other social service programs.

The Maine Game Warden Foundation is a non-profit organization operating under the regulations of Section 501 c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It is made up of a board of directors who are primarily Retired Maine Game Wardens. Gifts and endowments to this charitable organization are tax-deductible.

We Are Composed of
Retired Game Wardens

The board of directors and the Maine Game Warden Foundation's regular members are primarily Retired Maine Game Wardens from every part of the State of Maine. We represent hundreds of years of outdoor experience and service to the people of the State of Maine and its visitors. We hope this organization will be one more way we can corporately promote outdoor recreation, promote safety, and help people in need.

Liaison with the Maine
Warden Service Association

The Maine Warden Service Association is made up of dues-paying, active, and retired Maine Game Wardens. Its primary purpose is to give moral and material aid to game wardens and their families in good and bad times. The MWSA accepts donations from the general public to assist game wardens and their families.

Maine Game Warden Magazine

The bi-annual Maine Game Warden Magazine is the official magazine of the Maine Game Warden Foundation. It is a compilation of interesting, sometimes humorous, short stories, photographs of outdoor adventures, and historical tales. There are featured articles about interesting cases, search and rescue, and warden stories while on patrol in Maine's forests. There is even a section of photographs of active and retired game wardens and their families enjoying outdoor sports together, advertisements from businesses who support the Maine Game Warden Foundation's mission.

Individuals and corporations who would like to partner with the Maine Game Warden Foundation are encouraged to do so at whatever level they wish. Certainly, sponsors receive a copy of the Maine Game Warden Magazine, and all donations are tax-deductible. Our mission statement sums up our reason for being. As retired Maine Game Wardens, we feel we are uniquely suited to meet these goals. We look forward to carrying out our mission.
