Welcome to the private suite at Maison de Maitre Montaurand
set amongst fields and forests near Rougnac in the Charente just south of Angouleme.

We specialise in French Brocante tours of the Charente and Dordogne organised by Brocante specialist Madeleine Lee & we cater for the International Comic Festival in Angouleme - just 20 minutes away from us.

Decorated in a fusion of Swedish Gustavian style & French Brocante,
the soothing palette of Swedish whites & greys
will lend a serene atmosphere to your stay.

Montaurand Private Suite
The private suite sleeps 2 in a spacious master bedroom with king size bed
and views of the gardens.

A light, airy room with lots of space decorated with Swedish antique pieces & French Brocante finds with plenty of storage space available.
The ensuite bathroom has both a bath and freestanding shower
with a view over the fields and forest.
​
You also have a petit salon 2nd bedroom with a single bed for a 3rd guest,
with antique sofas, armchairs and refreshments.

The private suite has its own entrance
and acts as a self contained suite within the house.

Prices:
195E per night inc breakfast for the Private Suite
sleeping 2 with a 2 night minimum stay for booking.

+100E for the petit salon bedroom if you have a 3rd guest.
​
We can also make extra single beds available by prior arrangement
if you need to book for 4 people -

Montaurand is set in serene leafy grounds amongst beautiful old trees , next to our sheep fields and the chestnut forests of the Charente
Covid 19

We ask all guests to take a covid test prior to visiting us.
If you test positive we will rebook you for another date
in 2022 or 2023
Travel
Bordeaux and Limoges are the nearest airports and we are only 25 minutes from the mainline TGV station at Angouleme which runs to Paris and Bordeaux.
We are a great stopping off point for journeys to the South of France near the main autoroutes & only 15 miles from Chateau de la Couronne if you are attending a wedding.

Montaurand is the ideal place to use as a base to explore the Brocante markets of the Charente and the Dordogne. We can tell you where to go and even organise a paid Brocante guide if you want one.

We are only 20km from Angouleme and not far from the beautiful towns of Brantome, Riberac , Aubeterre, Piegut, Perigaud and much more
Wine Tours
The wine regions of Cognac and Bordeaux are a short drive away with many vineyards offering wine tasting tours
Winter Breaks
Enjoy france in the Autumn and Winter, sitting by log fires and revelling in the nature - we are open all year round

The countryside here is breathtaking and we are surrounded with deer ,wild boar, birds, buzzards and much more.
