No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship.

Our Philosophy

North End Community Day care Centre believes that children learn through play and the exploration of their environment. All children are entitled to equal opportunities that support all areas of their development. North End Community Day care Centre believes in fostering active learning, multiculturalism, integration, creativity, and independence. We encourage parent involvement by providing experiences for positive interactions between children, staff, parents, the Centre, and the community.

The North End Community Day care provides child care for children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years old. The final day for a child to attend the Centre will be August 31st of the year of his or her 12th birthday.

Toddler Room (18 months-3years)

Toddlers are full of imagination. Colors and drawing are an excellent way for children to express themselves through imagination. Imagination aids in development of social, emotional, creative, physical, lingual and problem-solving skills in children. Here children are fascinated by mixing colors. Our Toddler educators think this is important at this age as it helps develop hand strength, offers Practice for Grip, Stimulates Creativity, Encourages Self-Expression, improves Fine Motor Coordination and helps Focus.

Preschool Room (3 years - 5 years)

Our Preschool activities are associated with constructive play which will provide our children with a venue of creative thought, problem-solving, honing their motor skills and fostering strong social development. Our Preschool educators are introducing building blocks to the children. The skills children here are acquiring gross and fine motor skills, Spatial Reasoning, Hand-Eye Coordination and Dexterity, Problem Solving and Beginning Math and Science Skills.

School Age Rooms
(5 years - 12 years)

Children at school age level are continually changing physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Empathy is the ability to identify with and understand another person's feelings, situation, or motives. We always have encouraged our school age children to be sensitive towards the needs of other people. Here we see a school age child reading a storybook to an upset toddler.

“Children still need a childhood with dirt, mud, puddles, trees, sticks and tadpoles…”
