We met at a mutual friend’s Shakespeare In the Park production in the Summer of 2017. JD says that Olivia’s laugh is the only one he could hear in the crowd that day, and decided he would do everything in his power to hear it as many times as he could. Olivia says it took was one look, and a good laugh (to JD’s best efforts) and she was hooked.
Our first date, which included tacos and ice cream, went very well until we found ourselves as first responders to a motorcycle crash. Everyone was ok, but talk about seeing how someone responds in a stressful situation! We spent our second year nearly 200 miles apart, but always excited to see each other, accumulated a few speeding tickets. Then, Olivia joined JD in Cleveland, where they survived the pandemic through board games, movie nights, puzzles, conversation, and lots of laughs.
Since then, we’ve traveled the world together with family and friends, found a home in Cleveland, and built a life together as partners. We feel so blessed to not only have found the loves of our lives, but a devoted and steadfast best friend in one another.
