Mission Statement

We, of the Point Lookout Yacht Club, share a common love of the sea, the art of sailing and the joys of comradeship that bond us in mutual respect and purpose.

We are pledged to promote the skills of seamanship, respect for our fellow sailors, respect for our sea and all its creatures, love of our country and its values, and the rights of all to share in its natural bounty and beauty.

We go about our activities always within the bounds of the law, consideration of our fellow seafarers and with safety an ever-present value.

We seek to reach out to others who share our love of sailing and the sea to pursue the rewards of competition and the joy of meeting and making new friends. We promote and engage in social activities that strengthen our families, our friendships and unite us in the celebration of the seafarers’ life.

We pledge to each other our loyalty, friendship, respect and support as we pursue our love affair with the wind, the sail and the sea.
