Kinga Westwood offers face-to-face and telephone or Zoom sessions. In her experience, there are no limitations to  providing treatment in this way. In practice, these platforms can allow clients to really focus on the content of the sessions without any visual distractions and this can consequently help people retain information from their sessions. In addition, telephone sessions remove the need for travel, which is particularly valuable for time poor clients.

Kinga also offers psychological health retreats with daily individual face-to-face sessions. Please enquire for more details.

What to expect

Initially, you’ll be invited to have a somewhat informal chat with Kinga on the phone. It is designed to provide you with an opportunity to discuss your concerns and motivation for seeking professional help. There is no charge for this discussion.

During the discussion, Kinga will offer some useful insights, they will afford you a better understanding of where your challenges have likely come from and some understanding around the how and the why they are being sustained.

You will then be provided with recommendations for treatment and information about what the treatment involves. This assessment and any recommendations will be based on actual cases with the same or similar issues and have helped previous clients get real results, adapted to be the best ‘fit’ for you personally and your specific circumstances.

There is no obligation what so ever, to continue beyond this initial consultation.

If you do decide to continue into a therapeutic relationship with Kinga, sessions are typically scheduled on a weekly basis and structured around a one hour time frame.

SERVICES

Counselling and Psychology are terms that tend to be used interchangeably, but there are differences between them. There are distinct advantages to seeing a mental health expert who is trained, qualified and experienced in both whether you need short-term consultation or longer-term treatment.

What to expect from counselling

During your counselling sessions, you’ll be encouraged to express your feelings and emotions. The counsellor will help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, as well as help you identify ways for finding your own solutions to problems. You can seek to improve communication and coping skills strengthen self-esteem and improve your overall mental health.

A counsellor typically engages reflective listening techniques to assist clients to gain insights into their own behaviour, and subsequently develop their own solutions. This can be an incredibly powerful first step for people to decide whether they ‘click’ with the therapist, and to understand their own thought patterns and the behaviours and habits that they create.

If the counsellor also holds a Psychology Honours degree, they are trained to identify issues that may need a more specialist and skill based approach. If the client is already comfortable with their counsellor, it means that they do not have to then find and develop a trusting relationship with another person.
