Climate Ready O‘ahu

The City’s first climate adaptation strategy enhances the City and community’s resilience to climate impacts through specific, measurable actions that prepare us for the worst scenarios while also charting a course toward a more equitable, resilient, and climate ready O‘ahu.

Climate Action Plan

The Climate Action Plan (CAP) is a community-specific strategy to combat climate change and eliminate fossil fuel emissions—the root cause of climate change. The CAP outlines nine overarching strategies with corresponding climate actions the City can immediately pursue to reduce O‘ahu’s greenhouse gas pollution from ground transportation, electricity, and waste sectors from 2020 to 2025.

O‘ahu Resilience Strategy

The 44 actions within directly address the challenge of long-term affordability and the impacts of a climate crisis that is already driving islanders from their homes. This Strategy was not the work product of one; it is a gut-check from thousands of residents who want to see action to protect the island they love.

Our ability to thrive is rooted in local communities turning towards a truly sustainable future.
