the why

the why I do what I do

Confidence. Honesty. Integrity.

Confidence to be honest builds integrity.

I teach yoga to empower confidence. Confidence in action. Confidence to be truthful to oneself. Confidence to be honest with oneself and build integrity. Become empowered with the strength to hold steady in what you believe is true, good and beautiful.

The yoga mat provides me time to connect the mind, movement and breath. It is on my mat that I built confidence to move through life, learning to take a moment to breath, learning that you can fall out of something and laugh about it, learning that what happened yesterday is no longer in our control and what may happen tomorrow is unknown, learning to be present.

I specialize in autoimmune diseases and trauma. There is often a connection between the two. Trauma lives in the body, and through yoga therapeutic movements, trauma can move through the body. By integrating functional movements, yoga techniques such as breath work and mindfulness practices, alongside trauma accessible and somatic practices, students can become more self-aware of the inner workings of their own body. By offering choices and modifications, students gain the confidence to follow one's instinct and take action.

Certifications held include C-IAYT, ERYT-500, Trauma Informed, Prenatal, Y12SR, Warriors at Ease Level 1, and Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy. I completed my 200 hour training with Three Sisters Yoga and my 300 hour training at Yogaworks, under the amazing Dani Zuccheri. I went on to assist teacher trainings at Yogaworks, becoming certified in the Yogaworks Method, under the guidance of Jodie Rufty. I trained under Krissy Shields of Maha Mama for my prenatal certification. My initial Trauma Informed Yoga training was with Feet on the Ground and I went on to study Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy with the Embody Lab. I studied under Nikki Myers to complete my Y12SR training. I completed my Yoga Therapy program with Prema Yoga Institute under the knowledgable Dana Slamp. I am also honored to be the Director of Yoga Education for Breath to Blossom, as well as a guest teacher at Prema Yoga Institute.

Be confident, be honest, build integrity.

Private Yoga Therapy Sessions

"Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga." - IAYT Standard of Practice. Beginners, intermediate, experienced, and pre/post-natal practitioners can always benefit from one on one private sessions to grow, recover, strengthen and develop a deeper understanding of yoga and self care. I work with clients with autoimmune diseases and trauma survivors, often the two are intertwined.
