I am a life-long learner.
An autodidact, I’ve likely learned more out of school than in. While there, I learned to make films, write and explore the connection between technology and art. Since then, everything I know, I’ve learned by doing. In the past 15 years, I’ve worked in various fields. From product management, and marketing to executive leadership and investing. I’ve learned by bravely immersing myself and seeking out those who knew more than I did.
I believe in living an authentic life
My interests and proclivities run the gamut. From design, to consumer marketplaces; from mobile to video art. I am a serial entrepreneur and investor. I have started 3 businesses and written 2 books. There are likely more books and businesses to come.
I believe in the power of change.
I invest in passionate founders who harbor grand visions, seemingly impossible dreams, and unwavering tenacity. I’ve worked with innovators and game changers.
I feel a personal responsibility to make the world a better place than I’ve found it. To that end, I advise, assist and support dreamers that share my commitment to change and who are building products to foster it.
There is only one way forward.
I will no longer accept being ‘the only’ in the room. The only woman; the only queer; the only Black Woman. Every room I enter, I will make space for those who follow. I carry their struggles, their dreams and their goals with me. The weight is never too heavy. My crown was bought and paid for. I will leave any room I enter changed.
