Neighborhood Solar Program Powered by StraightUp Solar

What is

SunDivision?

Introducing a bright idea for small communities. SunDivision empowers everyday people to work together to take control of their clean energy future… one neighborhood at a time. We believe modern access to solar power should be affordable and easy to understand.

To achieve this vision, we’ve reinvented the traditional solar “group purchasing” program to eliminate inherent time, resource, and logistical challenges. A typical program lowers the cost of solar by pooling buying power on the city, county, or state level.

SunDivision zeroes in even further on the neighborhood level to pre-qualify homes that are well-suited for solar. Ideal subdivisions often have homes with: newly constructed south-facing roofs, limited-to-no shading, simple geometric roof shape, consistent utility company and jurisdictional rules, and a connected community. We pass the soft cost savings on to the homeowners.

SunDivision is powered by StraightUp Solar, the most experienced solar installation company in Missouri and Illinois since 2006. We are a turn-key solar EPC and installation provider from design-to-build (engineering, procurement, construction, installation) with a full solar service department. Our values-driven team is local, trusted, and experienced.

We are excited to offer this special solar pricing model that maximizes value so you can finally achieve your solar dream! What’s better? We offer a referral bonus if you refer your neighbors. Together you can turn your subdivision into a SunDivision solar neighborhood. To get started, call us at (844)97-SOLAR or reach out for a free, no-obligation quote.

Making Solar Simple

By design, the SunDivision “micro” group buy program has taken all the guesswork out of going solar. To maximize value, simplify the process, reduce costs, and create a beautiful uniform look in the neighborhood, our solar installations exclusively feature the REC Alpha all-black, monocrystalline, high-efficiency, 25 year warrantied solar panels. In addition, we offer easy-access low-interest financing, incredible production monitoring, free roof inspections, and an easy to get and understand quote.

Beyond the quote, our experienced installers manage every aspect of the solar installation process, from design, permitting, build, and beyond. It is truly a full-service relationship.

Go Solar Together

Solar reduces carbon dioxide production by offsetting coal burning for power production. The Midwest is powered largely with coal. Let’s say your home has a 7 kilowatts (kW) solar system installed that produces 9,100 kilowatt-hours (kWhDC) per year. You’ve just avoided 6.4 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions yearly!

Imagine doubling this if you AND your neighbor go solar. Or everyone on your block, or your entire neighborhood. If 50 homes all add 7kW systems, collectively you’re avoiding 322 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions yearly! That is equivalent to avoiding carbon dioxide emissions from 354,000 pounds of coal burned, nearly 800,000 miles driven by a car, 745 barrels of oil consumed, or carbon sequestered by 420 acres of US forests. (Estimate your neighborhood with the greenhouse gas calculator. Just multiply the number of houses in your neighborhood by 9,100 kilowatt-hours of electricity and enter it in the calculator).

Together you and your neighbors can make a big impact on your clean energy future.

How SunDivision Helped
Your Neighbor Go Solar

We installed solar for your neighbor, Dr. Matt Aldeman. In this testimonial video, hear him discuss why he chose to go solar with the SunDivision program and how he worked with Project Developer Andrew Stetter on the solar installation to find the right fit for his home (see a sample of his solar layout!). He shares how his solar installation has performed, what kind of payback he expects, and how he is excited to celebrate his “solar birthday” maybe even with a cake!

FAQs

This program includes a free roof inspection. You should check to see if your roof has damage or is in need of replacement soon (for any other reasons). Solar can be removed and reinstalled in the future for typically 10-15% of the initial installation price.

We follow a 5 step solar process:

There are numerous studies on property value after solar is added to a home. Zillow reported in 2019 that the average home with solar appreciated in value by 4.1% (approximately $9,500) across the United States.
Fortunately, the State of Illinois has a 1-page form that you can fill out to avoid this from happening as a result of your solar installation. It is called the IL PTAX 330 Form.
Solar electric systems are designed to last more than 25 years. Many solar electric systems from the 1970s and 1980s are still functioning today. Solar electric systems need very little maintenance and have a long functioning life. The solar electric panels themselves have a 25-year production warranty and will sustain 1-inch hail impact at 50 mph.
We provide a simple-to-read quote to you electronically within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). All you have to do is provide a few details and submit our Get a Quote form below on this page.
StraightUp Solar offers a selection of secured and unsecured loans and financing options and can help guide you through the selection process.
Rooftop solar installations have secure, leak-proof attachments or ballasted systems designed to withstand local wind forces. Dispersed roof loads of solar energy systems are quite low, generally 2-3 pounds per square foot. StraightUp Solar is also proud to offer an industry-leading 10-year workmanship warranty to give you peace of mind in your new clean energy investment.
Home and business owners may realize a 10% ROI or better. Given their longevity, the systems may pay for themselves well within their lifetime. As energy prices continue to rise, the return on investment should also improve.
