some of your questions

frequently asked questions

When are the swim lessons?

Mrs. D's Swim School typically runs for 6 weeks from the last week of June to the first week of August. Classes are held between 9:00am and 1:00pm. The classes are structured and the children swim for 45 minutes each day.

Are there different levels of lessons depending on experience?

The students come for a total of 10 lessons in a 2-week period and each child is placed according to their ability, not their age. Prior to the 2-week session, there is a pre registration for all new students who are evaluated and their placement is confirmed.

Who's eligible for lessons?

To be eligible for the program, each student must be at least 5½ years old and have completed kindergarten. Students up to age 16 are welcome to participate in the swim school.

How much attention does each student receive?

Each student has the personal attention of an individual instructor who has successfully completed Mrs D's Swim School. The instructor works with the student to complete all the skills necessary to pass a level.

What happens after my child completes a session?

Upon completion of each level, the student will receive a Course Completion Card. There are 6 levels of the program that bring a student from a non-swimmer to an accomplished swimmer.

When will I see the progress my child has made?

At the end of the 2-week session, there is a demonstration for parents. The purpose of this demonstration is to ensure that each parent and student have a mutual understanding of the child's ability.
