Hi! I'm Charity Majors...
And a few short years ago, I was in a completely different place.
From the outside, I seemed to be doing ok in life…
But on the inside...oh my friend, the inside was a completely different story.
I didn’t know who I was or where I fit in.
I was unsure in the decisions I made.
I didn’t feel confident in myself, my purpose, or most rooms that I walked into (especially around other women).
I felt the need to apologize (a lot)...for not picking up the phone, for not having the “right answer,” for being unsure...let’s just say I was the “apology queen.”
When someone would give me a compliment, it made me feel sooooooo uncomfortable. I didn’t know how to take it so I would awkwardly giggle, half smile, and point out some sort of flaw.
There was a voice inside of me that would say,
“Who are you kidding?"
"You could never do that."
"You're gonna fail."
"You don’t fit in."
"Who do you think you are?”
So I hid…
I sat quietly in the background at social gatherings.
I tried to overcompensate for the lack of belief I had in myself with “just one more degree or certification or book…”
You better believe I could “achieve” the heck out of everything, but even when I achieved whatever I was working on, I still felt like I fell short.
I wasn’t confident in my body, I felt like a hot mess in my mind, and discontent in my spirit.
At times, I felt paralyzed in making decisions because I’d made “wrong ones” in the past.
I played small...I dimmed my light...I was stuck and unsure.
The reality was my potential was being strangled by my feelings of not being good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, or well spoken enough.
Meanwhile, on the inside, my soul was SCREAMING... she wanted to be seen, heard, and understood.
She wanted to be confident and unapologetic and free from rejection, overwhelm, anxiety, and fear.
One day, my soul couldn’t take it anymore…
Something HAD to give...I had to change something - and fast (because we all know that the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result).
So what did I do?
I'm glad you asked...
I went on somewhat of a mindset and spiritual journey...one that helped a LOT with limiting beliefs, fears, and insecurities that I had.
I wont go into all of the details, because I share them in my book, "Meant For More; Igniting Your Purpose in a World That Tries To Dim Your Light."
But let's just say that a LOT changed...
SO much so, that I did something completely out of my comfort zone...

Pageant!
Yep! You read that right...I joined a pageant!
I couldn't believe it at first, but I dove in, learned some "pageant things" along the way aaannndddd....
And guess what...I WON!
I won the very first one that I entered (against 38 other women, I might add).
Now, before you think that this is some "win-quick scheme," the reason that I won the first pageant was all of the stuff I had learned while on my mindset and spiritual journey...but that wasn't the end of what happened...
So now, let me tell you the rest of the story...
Even though I had won my first competition, because I was so new at this whole pageant thing, I ended up listening to cookie-cutter advice that made me look and sound just like every other pageant girl out there...
The perfect pageant look? Yep, nailed it.
The perfect pageant hair? Yep, had it.
The perfect pageant walk and pretty feet? You know it.
The perfect pageant answers? You betcha.
And...I...haaatttteeeedddd it.
It felt so inauthentic to me.
And even worse, I looked like every other girl I was competing against at Nationals.
So how did this "cookie-cutter" perfect pageant girl do when I competed at Nationals?
I...
Didn't...
Place...
Yep...you read that right. I didn't even make it to the semi-finals.
Because I looked like a cookie-cutter pageant patty instead of my confident and authentic self, something inside of me knew that's what would happen...
So what did I do?
After finishing out the state title I had and serving my community, I decided I wanted another shot at a major title...
BUT...
I wanted to compete on my OWN TERMS...
No more cookie-cutter girl.
No more perfect pageant hair.
No more stupid pageant answers.
I wanted to be the best version of ME...
Feminine.
Beautiful.
Powerful.
Confident.
Mission driven.
Magnetic.
A Stand out.
A bright shining light, with a message spoken from my heart, with energy that was captivating, so that it was undeniable that I was meant for the title.
And you want to know what happened after that?
I won a national title, ended up winning top 6 in the world, winning multiple awards (including interview as well as being voted with top interview outfit AND evening gown by a well known pageant website)!
Whaaaaattttt???!!!
Me?!
The average girl that used to:
- hide in the background of the room
- never feel good enough

And things didn't stop there...
Other pageant women began to see the huge shift in what I was doing (and how much I was winning) that they began to ask me how I was doing it...
I began to share the steps that I learned, and guess what?!
Dozens of women started to become state, national, regional, and even national title holders because of what I taught them!
So awesome, right?!
