Serving families since 1929, Tuscaloosa Memorial Park continues to be Family Owned and Operated. This extensive experience helps us remember the way service should be – giving the extra effort and caring beyond the expected. Our high standard of service has always been our priority.

The families of Tuscaloosa had been lucky in years past to have a family owned and operated funeral home, but not in recent times. Publicly owned corporations have purchased or opened funeral homes in Tuscaloosa for the benefit of their stockholders. The owners are not present in the funeral home to serve the families. But this changed in 2002 when my grandfather’s and mother’s dream became a reality, the opening of Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. I joined my mother, Cherry Austin Hoyt, to give Tuscaloosa the convenience of making arrangements at one location. Then in 2016 we added Tuscaloosa County's only Family Owned and Operated Crematory.
