Unity Over Division, Service Over Politics

For the past 15 years, my family and I have been fortunate to call Sandy home and I have come to understand the unique needs and concerns of our diverse and quickly growing population.

While on city council, I have been able to implement the kind of policy that creates lasting impact for our community.

We have reduced idling vehicles, set energy benchmarks for municipal buildings, and executed a green building incentives program.

I believe in transparency, accountability, and the inclusion of diverse perspectives in government and I want to bring these guiding principles to the Salt Lake County Council.

My passion lies in being a dedicated advocate for the members of our community and my commitment to you, if I am elected, will be to provide an open dialogue, ensuring the voices of our community are heard and considered in the county council decision-making processes.

About Zach

Zach has been serving Sandy in some capacity for the better part of the past 15 years. He started his career in public service and safety as a paramedic and firefighter, and discovered a desire to serve the community in a deeper way. A ‘close call’ in the field drove his return to his alma mater, the University of Utah, to find an even more impactful way to serve the community. Zach earned a master’s degree in Public Administration in 2013 and now serves as the Operations Manager for virtual care at the University of Utah, maintaining his steadfast commitment to the health of his community.

Zach and his wife Nichole met while in college at the University of Utah, and now have two daughters, Hannah and Haleigh. In highschool and middle school respectively, both girls keep their parents busy with their school schedules and dance recitals, but the family loves to escape to the mountains together when time allows for hiking or camping, and they enjoy attending the occasional Utes football game or gymnastics meet.

Zach is committed to public service and the residents he serves.

Issues he would like to focus on as your Salt Lake County District 6 council member are:

  • Government transparency

  • Efficient delivery of services

  • Preserving open space

  • Strengthening the economy

  • Public safety

Zach is eager to connect with constituents and would love to chat with you! He wants to hear your suggestions and ideas on how to improve Salt Lake County and to answer any questions that you may have. Please reach out!
