I discovered quilts and embroidery while trying to find a special gift for my first grandchild. I wanted to give her something that was from my heart and soul to hers. It is interesting that sewing, embroidery and fabric is where I landed.

I grew up in small town South Carolina where the women in my family sewed, knitted and made clothes and household items continuously. I sat at my Grandmother's feet as she made dresses for the ladies in the town. It was an amazing discovery when I heard my first sewing machine run more than 50 years later. The joy and security of the sound of her sewing and her sewing machine was inside of me all my life. I had to hear it again to remember.

In looking for the special gift for my granddaughter, I discovered a whole world of individual talents just waiting and hoping to be used. I found artists, embroiderers, designers and digitizers offering to contribute their ideas, creativity and talent to projects. Creative souls from around the world help me find and express my talents in a medium my Grandmother instilled in me decades ago.

YippyStitch offers embroidery designs created by artists around the world. These individuals are seeking self expression and seeking to share their talent and ideas. YippyStitch also incorporates designs commercially available to everyone. These designs are chosen carefully and an effort is made to find excellent work that may be yet undiscovered by others.

YippyStitch is one destination on a journey of finding and expressing a creative soul. Everyone has their own unique creative style that belongs to them. Often it reflects who they are, where they have traveled and how their life is unfolding. Some find this early in life - others much later. I have found many creative souls from around the globe. It is a joy to see their work.
