Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Bodywork

Tailored to your unique body and stage of pregnancy, addressing the root causes of your specific aches and pains. You and baby receive a massage on a special cutout table that lets you feel weightless and comfortable.

Together we’ll create a customized plan of support for you to prepare your body for the journey ahead. Every body is different, and it is my specialty to listen to your specific needs and address you as the special individual you are. In addition to bodywork plans and packages, I also offer additional modalities catered to support your pregnancy and birth process, including — when appropriate — essential oils and stretches you can do at home to increase the effects and benefits of your bodywork sessions.

Breeched Baby and ECV Support

Finding out your baby is breeched or transverse is always really hard. It can feel really scary and challenging. We will work together to help create space for baby to get into the best position. Please note I do not turn the baby but by creating space in particular ways. We can create space for baby to get head down. And or prepare you to have a more comfortable ECV. With more space for a higher increased success rate. A large part of my work is making sure you and baby are ready for labor and to meet your birth goals. Together we will help baby get head down and keep you on track for a birth that feels best for you. This work is best used in a sequence of sessions.

Fertility Support

Sometimes it takes a support team to help you meet little.

Together we will work on helping your body relax so that it is a little easier to conceive, use specific abdominal techniques to make space for baby, and help stabilize the ever-changing emotions.

This can be a tricky road; please know you are not alone. You are loved and supported.

Infant Bodywork

Baby will be gently massaged using a mixture of Bowen, Craniosacral, and other modalities, based on your baby’s needs.

Your baby’s range of motion will be gently evaluated and any muscular restrictions or limitations will be addressed. This work will focus on creating a comfortable and more efficient latch, reducing pain, and going over feeding positions that work well for both of you.

Together we will go over how you carried the baby, how you birthed, and how breastfeeding is going.

This work is best done in a sequence of visits.  I recommend getting at least 3 sessions for your baby, to achieve optimal results.

Common reasons to book an Infant Massage:

  • Painful/shallow latch
  • Baby is pulling on and off the breast
  • Colic or other tummy issues
  • Precipitous (very fast) delivery
  • Preparing for or recovering from a lip or tongue tie revision
  • Torticollis

Now Offering Labor and Birth Support

If you would like a little extra support during your labor and birth experience, I offer bodywork services to help relax and support your body during the process.

This may include staying near you throughout your labor or visiting you in early labor to give you a massage and get your body relaxed and prepared, then returning when the contractions are closer together (about 10 minutes apart).

During contractions, I offer counterpressure on the hips and lower back to release the tension. Between contractions, I can massage your hands, feet, shoulders, or any combo that feels supportive and relaxing.

After delivery, I can massage any areas that are feeling sore, weak, or tense. This can be done from the comfort of your bed.

I also offer massages for the baby right after birth (the baby should stay next to mom for 1 to 2 hours before given any massage).

Contact me if this is something you would like to incorporate into your birth plan and we can talk about planning and pricing.
Please note: my role during birth is different than what a doula offers.

While I do offer emotional support, I do not navigate the hospital staff or advise on the delivery plan.

A Unique Experience Satisha Hollandsworth, CMT, Prenatal & Newborn Massage Specialist

My name is Satisha and I am more than just a Massage Therapist. It is my mission in life to support and nurture women, their bodies, and their babies through the beautiful process of pregnancy, birth, and infancy.

My specialization in pre- and postnatal massage is enhanced by my deep understanding of anatomy, movement, and the changes that happen in your body during pregnancy. I am able to read the body in a unique way and my massage sessions take a step beyond simple relaxation, as I can often identify and address the root cause of your discomforts. I make sure to address areas that require extra attention during pregnancy that are often missed or neglected, including as coccyx issues, pubic synthesis, and shortness of breath.

I offer individualized bodywork for your entire pregnancy and postpartum period, including infant massage. My support goes beyond the massage table to offer you emotional coaching, essential oils, stretches for you and baby, and help with physical post-birth issues such as nursing discomforts and your recovering body.

I work closely with the local birthing community of midwives and doulas, as they know better than anyone the personalized care and attention that must go into supporting a pregnant mom. I am honored to be recognized by these amazing women as a key contributor to making pregnancy and birth a comfortable and joyous experience.
